Navin Suyal

Our Founder and CTO, was founder and CTO of Exxelis Limited, an optical films manufacturer with operations in UK and Taiwan since 2005. Before starting Exxelis, Navin was the Co-founder and Director of Materials at Terahertz Photonics, a Venture-Capital backed telecom start-up in Scotland. Navin also worked with a major currency producer De La Rue for around 2 years before starting Optrical. Navin holds Dr. Ing. and Master of Technology, degrees in Materials Engineering from Leibniz Institute of New Materials, Saarbruecken, Germany and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur respectively. He has over 25 years’ experience of innovation, development and commercialisation of optical materials & systems with multiple patents and publications in these areas.

Andrew Machnicki

Our Commercial Director Andrew Machnicki is an experienced entrepreneur having 32 years’ experience in industry and specifically in the technology sector specialising in optical, solar, lighting, nano & micro surface structuring technologies as well as in the display and security print sectors utilising micro-optic lens arrays, lenticular printing and holographic technologies amongst others. Andrew has good all round management skills in business planning, business development, sales & marketing, customer & supplier relations, R&D, Innovations and Product development and has successfully managed Consortia and raised grant funding for a number of FP7 projects. A long-term member of the Holographic and Optical Security Technologies industries with extensive network of senior level contacts. Previously a member of IHMA.

Mark Long

Optrical’s Director of Finance (part time now) is a chartered accountant (ICAEW) with over twenty four years’ experience in both practice and industry. Mark is a specialist in the technology sector having worked with several VC funded technology start-ups and early stage companies.
