About Optrical
Optical Technologies Limited, trading as Optrical, is a developer and manufacturer of advanced micro-optic film products, with unparalleled expertise in light-manipulating UV printed micro-structures. We operate primarily in optical security, anti-counterfeiting and traceability — the AuthNtrace™ space.
Our products are enabled by exceptional designs, custom high-performance UV materials and cost-effective 1.1 metre wide roll-to-roll optical film manufacturing. Alongside the films, we build the digital layer that gives each unit its own identity.

Our leadership
Founder and MD
Navin Suyal, the Founder and Managing Director of Optical Technologies Ltd (OTL), has spent over 25 years in optics and security technology, including a role at banknote printer De La Rue. Navin founded OTL to bring banknote-grade micro-optic security to brand protection and anti-counterfeiting, and now leads OTL's "phygital" platform, combining physical micro-optic films and threads with digital authentication. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from the Leibniz Institute for New Materials, Germany, and his also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics, IIT Madras
Head of Digital Services
A seasoned solution architect with over three decades of experience Ranjan (PhD, IIT Kanpur, 1995) leads the firm's digital transformation by pioneering the QRSys vision. By integrating QR codes as data carriers on micro-optic labels, he is pushing its capabilities far beyond authentication and security—unlocking advanced business intelligence through analytics and readying the ecosystem for Digital Product Passport (DPP) standards.
Finance Director
A chartered accountant (ICAEW) with over 25 years in practice and industry, specialising in the technology sector and working with VC-funded technology start-ups and early-stage companies.
Strategy Advisor
Investment Director at Mercia from 2008 to March 2025, with over 15 years of venture capital experience. Responsible for technology investments including Faradion and SureCore.
