Privacy Policy
Who we are
This website is operated by Optical Technologies Limited, trading as Optrical, of AMP Technology Centre, Brunel Way, Rotherham, S60 5WG, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described on this page. For any question about it, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to info@optrical.com.
What we collect
When you submit the contact form we store the name, email address, subject and message you provide, together with the time of submission and the IP address the request came from. We use this only to respond to your enquiry. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
If you email us directly, we hold that correspondence on the same basis.
Why we are allowed to hold it
We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our products and services, and in keeping a record of business correspondence. Where an enquiry leads to a contract, we rely on the steps necessary to enter into and perform that contract. The IP address is recorded for security and abuse prevention, which is also a legitimate interest.
Cookies
This site sets a session cookie only when signing in to the administration area. No analytics or advertising cookies are set, so no cookie consent banner is required.
Retention
Contact enquiries are retained for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up, and in any case no longer than 24 months from the last contact, after which they are deleted.
Who else sees it
Enquiries are handled by Optrical staff. Our website hosting and email providers process the data on our behalf as our processors, under contracts requiring them to keep it secure and use it only on our instructions. Personal data is stored within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To do any of these, write to info@optrical.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
The QRSys application
The QRSys application at o4qr.com is a separate service and is covered by its own privacy policy. This page describes only the optrical.com website.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and revise the date below.
