What traceability means here
Traceability is the ability to follow a single physical item through the world after it leaves you: which unit it is, where it has been seen, when, and by whom. Not the batch it came from, and not how many of them shipped — that one.
It needs three things. The item has to carry an identity that is unique to it. That identity has to be readable by whoever encounters the item — a customer, an inspector, a distributor. And every reading has to come back to a record you can query later. Miss any one and you have a label, not traceability.
Everything below is those three things: what the code can do when it is scanned, and what the resulting record can tell you.
The core difference
Most QR platforms point thousands of codes at the same URL. Scan any of them and the system sees the same thing: a hit on one link.
QRSys issues every single code its own identity. Each one carries an individual scan history, a first-scan claim, a geographic footprint and a fraud profile — so you know which physical item was scanned, where, and when. That is the difference between a QR generator and knowing what happened to your product after it shipped.
Start where you are
The platform works with any code. Print QRSys codes into your existing artwork and run them through the presses you already use, and everything works the same way.
When the threat model justifies it, move the same codes onto our tamper-evident micro-optic labels. Nothing about the platform changes — the physical layer gets harder to defeat.
What a code can do
Prove this specific unit is genuine. Anti-counterfeiting, recall, custody chain.
Rich content at the point of scan — batch, origin, care, documents. No app.
These are behaviours, not products. Every plan does both, and a batch can be switched from one to the other after the labels are printed.
After the print run
A code on a pack is usually a decision you cannot take back — whatever it pointed at on the day of printing is what it points at for years. Ours is not like that. The identifier stays fixed and registered; where it resolves, and what a scanner is shown when it gets there, stay yours to change.
Move a campaign on without reprinting packaging. Correct care instructions after a formulation change. Swap a launch page for a support page once the product has shipped. Add a document when a regulator asks for one. The label on the shelf never changes, and the scan history stays attached to the same unit across every one of those edits.
What happens on a scan
Scan, verify, check, result, outcome. The same five stages run whichever behaviour a batch is set to — what changes is where the code resolves and what the scanner is shown.
Every step is logged against that individual code, which is what turns a scan into evidence rather than a click.
How it works
Issue codes in bulk, each with its own identity, laid out for your label or pack.
Onto your own artwork, or into our micro-optic secure labels. Codes are registered before anything ships.
Anyone with a phone camera opens the code. No app. Every scan flows back tied to that individual item.
The platform
Live scan maps, per-code timelines, and fraud signals including impossible-travel and clone alerts.
Design labels with your logo, code and secret text, then impose hundreds per sheet for print.
In every plan
Quotas differ by plan. The capabilities do not — every code issued on any plan carries its own identity, its own scan history and the full set of behaviours.
Sectors
The same per-code intelligence works whether the item is a pharmaceutical carton, a woven garment label or an excise stamp — what changes is the threat model and what a scan should return.
Pharmaceuticals need serialisation and patient-facing verification. FMCG needs cost per unit low enough to apply to everything. Luxury needs security that survives scrutiny at the point of sale. Automotive needs a check a distributor can perform on the shelf in seconds.
Pricing
Two numbers drive a plan: how many unique codes you issue, and how many scans they serve. Those look very different for anti-counterfeiting and for campaign redirects, so we quote against both rather than publishing a single ladder.
Your codes never stop working. Verification and redirection always resolve, whatever your quota position. Detailed analytics pause; the code does not.
Send us a pack or a label artwork and we will show you what a scan returns.
